Type approval of construction products

The type approval is a national system for verifying construction products with the requirements in the Swedish building regulations. The type approval shall be granted only if the product is not covered by a harmonized standard or a European Technical approval, ETA. Type approved construction products are labeled with the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning‘s mark of type approval, “the fork”. The type approval is issued by certification bodies that are accredited by SWEDAC.

SWEDAC accredits also inspection body type A for the production control.
