In New Zealand a 2007 amendment to the 1956 Health Act stipulated that drinking water for domestic consumption must be tested in labortories ‘accredited by International Accreditation New Zealand or any other prescribed body for the purposes of this section’ or conforming to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
